Trading Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are in effect as of March 1st 2006. Kens Valeting Ltd (KVL) reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without notice.

  1. KVL will carry out the work as stated in the service option selected – which will be agreed in advance between the parties, within the agreed time. However, should we be unable to complete the work within the time stated, the customer will be contacted and a reasonable re-schedule will be arranged. However KVL accepts no liability for services not completed on time, or not at all.
  2. KVL will take all reasonable care of your vehicle while it is on our premises, however no liability is accepted for:

    1. Any loss or damage that is claimed after the vehicle has left the workshop (this also applies to personal belongings)
    2. Customer failing to ventilate vehicle until all surfaces are dry after internal shampooing (to avoid condensation and mould)
    3. The fact that steam cleaning may affect paintwork on older vehicles which will be cleaned at the owners risk
    4. Damage or loss to your vehicle caused by Acts of God, Government or other factors outside of our control
    5. Loss or damage to your vehicle as result of you not disclosing information (such as damages, defects, or weakness) regarding the condition of the vehicle that may affect, or be affected by,  the services performed
  3. Vehicles over 5 years old are cleaned at the owners risk, as older cars may have weaker plastics and paintwork. All Engine Steam Cleans are done at the owners risk
  4. KVL is not responsible for any insurance on the vehicle whilst on our premises – the customer is responsible for this at all times
  5. Any damage to KVL property, or injury to KVL staff caused by any defects or contents of the vehicle will be the liability of the customer
  6. Services will be performed as described in the service option chosen, however KVL reserves the right to make amendments and alterations to these services at their discretion – any decision on the part of KVL is full and final. Increased services will only be performed due to:

    1. Pre-existing undeclared faults in the vehicle which require attention to bring it to the required standard of cleaning
    2. Delays caused to KVL’s business or customers as a result of above faults
  7. Service will be charged according the price list and will be agreed with the customer in advance, please note:

    1. KVL accepts Cash or Cheque only, no CARDS
    2. Customers will be required to pay  upon collection of the vehicle, unless alternative arrangements are agreed, in writing, in advance.
    3. There will be additional charges for overnight storage or collections/deliveries outside of normal working hours
    4. Payment is deemed as satisfaction with service
    5. Overdue payments will be charged at 3% interest, and KVL reserves the right to hold the vehicle until payment is received.
  8. Re-cleans will only be performed on cars previously cleaned by KVL within the previous three months of the re-clean query. KVL reserves the right to reasonably refuse a re-clean request and charge at the full valeting rate as appropriate. Re-cleans will be agreed in advance and signed for by the customer. KVL accepts no liability for claims that a vehicle clean should have been a re-clean, unless agreed in advance.
